The Problem
Dead hours, unattended customers, opportunities slipping away
Star Cars is a dealership specializing in new and used vehicles in Costa Rica, part of the country's mobility ecosystem. Like any automotive sales operation, there are time slots where demand exists but the human team isn't available: evenings, weekends, lunch hours.
The result was predictable but painful: customers reaching out and getting no response. Leads going cold while nobody attended to them. Hours where ad spend was generating traffic that literally evaporated.
"We weren't satisfying our customers during those time windows where we couldn't attend to them," the Star Cars team explains. It was a well-known problem across the industry: dead hours that nobody had managed to solve without multiplying headcount.
The Moment
The day a bot sold a car
One day, a customer pulled into the dealership. Parked. Got out of his car. And said:
"Hi, I'm here to drop off this vehicle and pick up the one you sold me."
Silence from the team. Nobody had helped him. Nobody knew who he was.
"And who helped you, sir?" they asked. "No one, I was helped through this number," he replied, showing his phone with the WhatsApp conversation.
The AI agent had maintained the entire conversation, resolved the customer's questions, negotiated the vehicle, and closed the sale. The customer came in, did the paperwork, signed, and left, thrilled.
The first-ever vehicle sale completed 100% by artificial intelligence, with zero human intervention.
The Results
Sales grew by 2X. From 0 dealership visits to 100 per month.
The numbers speak for themselves: Star Cars increased sales by 100% after implementing Patagon AI. "It's a number that sounds crazy to most people, but we went from X sales to 2X" the team confirms.
But the impact goes beyond closed deals. Before Patagon, the dealership received zero to one physical visit generated through digital channels. With the AI agent qualifying leads and scheduling test drives via WhatsApp, monthly visits jumped to between 75 and 100, so much so that at one point they couldn't keep up with all the people coming in to test drive vehicles.
Cost per lead also dropped significantly, an effect the team attributes directly to response speed: a lead that gets attention in seconds is far more likely to convert than one that waits hours or days.
And a benefit nobody anticipated: the human team could finally rest. "The agent taught us what the customer needs, not just in terms of serving them properly, but also so our team can rest and spend time with their families." AI didn't replace the team, it gave them back something they didn't have: peace of mind.
"I'd work with Patagon once, twice, three times, four times, even a thousand times." - Star Cars team, Costa Rica
How They See Things Now
The partner they needed
"We love Patagon. They've truly been the partner we needed."
Beyond the commercial results, what the Star Cars team highlights most is the relationship. "Any question we have, they answer right away. If we need to solve or adjust something, it's immediate. They're always there for us."
That closeness, the feeling of having a team that responds as fast as their own AI agent, is what turned a vendor relationship into a strategic partnership. "The service they provide is spectacular. It's been a success, not just the agent or the platform itself — they're always there."
The team also recognizes a shift in mindset. Artificial intelligence stopped being a buzzword and became a fundamental part of daily operations. "We're really excited about everything that's been happening since we brought Patagon on board."
What's Next
From vehicles to the entire mobility ecosystem
The results were so strong that Star Cars is already planning to expand Patagon AI into their other business verticals within the mobility sector. The agent that started selling vehicles is getting ready to operate across new lines.
"Patagon's help has been fundamental, and that's why we want to bring them into our other business verticals in mobility," they confirm.
And they leave a message for other industry leaders: "AI is transforming the world. It's transforming the industry. Managers need to be there, they need to transform with it, update themselves daily because this isn't going to stop here, it will keep growing. We need to align ourselves with these new trends emerging in the world."
